This is ABB's latest version of the IRB 1400 robot now with the latest IRC5 control cabinet. The Arm is now manufactured by ABB China giving a good cost saving. We have had a very close look at the build quality of the 1410 to compare it with Swedish built 1400's and there is no difference
The 1410 is a compact, fast and flexible robot designed primarily for welding, gluing and light pick and place work. The robot has an excellent reputation as a reliable and productive robot and has been installed around the world in hundreds of installations. The arm design is well balanced, durable and remained virtually unchanged for over 13 years, a testament to how well it was specified in the first place.
The IRC5 control cabinet is significantly smaller than its predecessor. It has fantastic connectivity and flexibility and features all the latest functionality. The full colour touch screen teach pendant is lighter and more adaptable than it's predecessors. It uses a PC based computer running a Microsoft Windows OS.
The IRB 1410 is well adapted to welding applications including TIG and MIG. It can be installed with analogue I/O cards and welding software that allow simple but precise control of weave, seam tracking, current, gas, water, wire feed etc. Using the ABB RAPID programming language the robot is also straightforward and intuitive to program.
The 1410 arm has a handling capacity of 5kg but has a supplementary load of 18kg on axis 3 or 19kg on axis 1. It also has customer connections on the arm for air (Max 8 Bar) and 12 electrical signals. The quoted repeatability is 0.05mm (average result from ISO test) which is remarkable. The max TCP (tool centre point, at the end of the robot arm) velocity is 2.1m/s.
We plan to maintain a stock of the 1410 as the lead time when ordering from ABB can be very long. These are brand new robots complete with warranty and documentation. We also have a fixed and transparent pricing policy. We do offer some discount if a customer buys several machines but otherwise the price you see is the price you pay.
